One to see - Yayoi Kusama at Tate Modern

Today I visited the Yayoi Kusama show at Tate Modern and was pleasantly surprised.  I must admit my ignorance and confess that I hadn't heard of her before.  I have always been a fan of her peers Donald Judd, Joseph Cornell and Claes Oldenberg so it was like discovering a hidden treasure in its own right and adding some context to their work.  The stand out room of the show is entitled The Passing Winter and has to be seen to be believed.  I saw an elderly lady hastily making an exit whilst shaking her head.  Admittedly it was a bit of a mindf**k and I felt safer peeking in from just outside but it truly transports you into the hallucinatory mind of Kusama.  Well worth a visit and I'd give the Hirst a miss.
